Ryan Peters often finds himself at the center of where policy, politics, and communications meet. He supports SKDK’s senior leadership in writing pitches, oversees new business development ventures, and manages the firm’s thought leadership and marketing strategy.
A native of upstate New York, Ryan began his career working on complex policy and communications challenges across the Rust Belt. His work includes designing campaigns to counter misinformation surrounding the Trump administration’s “Muslim Ban” and serving as spokesperson for a coalition of refugee resettlement agencies; developing the early framework for a new Housing Choice Voucher “Mobility Counseling” initiative; and managing a $3M tech-modernization project at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to SKDK, he worked at a Pennsylvania-based public affairs and issue-advocacy firm supporting Fortune 100 clients, including Coca-Cola, Walmart, and Comcast/NBCUniversal.
Ryan is a proud graduate of the State University of New York and holds a master’s degree in policy research and analysis from the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as a communications fellow and helped launch the Pittsburgh Network for Threatened Scholars (PiNTS) program. He first joined SKDK as an intern in the Albany office during the historic 2019 legislative session.
