At the end of 2014, right before the start of the 114th Congress, SKDKnickerbocker and Benenson Strategy Group launched the firms’ first collaborative public opinion project, Beyond the Beltway Insights. Our first poll aimed to provide a comprehensive blueprint of Americans’ expectations for decision makers in Washington. The new venture dug deep into voters’ thinking on a range of hot-button topics, including the economy, tax reform, race in America, climate change, immigration and voters early impressions of possible 2016 presidential candidates. It offered insights into the cultural trends shaping our public policy debates and found that the American public agreed on the need for action on key issue areas.
