Government and Campaign Veteran to Lead Issue Advocacy Campaigns

Washington, D.C. — Today, SKDKnickerbocker announced that political and public relations strategist Michael Czin has joined the Washington-based public affairs team as a vice president to support the firm’s advocacy, issues and crisis communications clients.

“We’re excited to have Michael join the SKDK team,” managing director Anita Dunn said. “His communications experience in national politics and local government demonstrate the creativity and strategic abilities that we want to bring to our client work. Whether as a spokesperson for the 2012 Obama reelection campaign, the Democratic National Committee, or leading Mayor Bowser’s press and communications team, Michael is simply one of the best.”

Michael joins SKDK’s Washington, DC office with more than a decade of experience in political strategy and government. In his most recent role, Michael served as Mayor Muriel Bowser’s communications director in Washington, where he served as the District’s chief spokesman and led strategic communications for the Mayor and more than 60 agencies. Before his time in the Bowser Administration, Michael was national press secretary for the Democratic National Committee during the 2014 election cycle, where he advised state parties, candidates and elected officials at the local, state and federal level. Previously, Michael served as a top spokesman for President Obama’s 2012 reelection and held several positions with then-Senator Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
