Sean Sibley

Sean brings years of experience in strategic communications, messaging, and media relations to his work with SKDK’s public affairs team. He served as a spokesperson for members of leadership in both chambers of Congress and in the Biden-Harris administration.

Most recently, Sean was press secretary at the U.S. Department of Education where he led communications strategy on K-12 education policy issues and congressional oversight matters involving the Department. Before that, Sean was press secretary for former Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan. In each of these roles, he executed messaging and media strategies during historic events on Capitol Hill including two presidential impeachments, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the passage of momentous legislation like the American Rescue Plan, Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and CHIPS and Science Act. Sean also served on the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign as deputy press secretary for the key battleground state of Wisconsin.

A native of the Chicago suburbs, he holds Bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Illinois State University. He now calls Washington, D.C. home but remains a die-hard Chicago White Sox fan.
