Vega Brings More Than 25 Years of Experience in Operations, Strategy, and Talent Management

Washington, D.C. – SKDK, the nation’s leading strategic communications and political consulting firm, today named Veracelle Vega as its new chief operating officer. Vega brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources and operations and has spent the past decade positioning companies for growth. As chief operating officer, Vega will work closely with SKDK’s CEO, CFO, and partner group to execute the firm’s vision, oversee talent, scale its capabilities, and serve clients across multiple offices and service lines.
“At a time when the communications business is rapidly changing, Veracelle is a proven operations leader with a track record of helping companies adapt, grow, and scale for success,” said SKDK CEO Doug Thornell. “Veracelle will be a key partner in implementing SKDK’s long-term growth strategy as we break new ground working with corporations, non-profit organizations, and candidates to tell their stories and win their biggest fights.”
“I can’t wait to support the incredible team at SKDK as they take on some of the most consequential policy fights and political campaigns in the country today,” said Vega. “I have long admired SKDK’s work and am proud to bring my ideas and experience to grow the firm’s talent, capabilities, and strategies for future success.”
Vega’s expertise spans organizational design, talent management, executive compensation, succession planning, learning and development, culture transformation, and talent acquisition. She joins SKDK from Prose, a direct-to-consumer hair and skincare brand where she served as Chief People Officer and led the company’s organizational development efforts. Earlier in her career, Vega spent a decade at News Corp and 21st Century Fox helping lead human resources. She began her career in public service with the Social Security Administration and was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow, one of the federal government’s most prestigious leadership development programs.
In addition to her executive leadership roles, she has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Villanova University since 2019, teaching graduate-level courses in human capital management.
