In Challenging Year, SKDK Helps Elect Arizona’s First Latino U.S. Senator and Flip Key NY House District

Leading media firm drives victories in critical campaigns, including Ruben Gallego’s historic Senate win, Josh Riley’s NY-19 flip, and successful defense of key House seats nationwide

Washington DC SKDK, the leading Democratic media and political consulting firm, served as ad-makers and strategists for winning campaigns in critical Senate, Congressional, and down-ballot races across the country in the 2024 Election. This cycle, the firm produced over nearly 1000 TV, digital, radio, OOH, and print ads, supporting key wins including Ruben Gallego’s historic Senate campaign in Arizona, Josh Riley’s hard-fought win in NY’s 19th District, and Maggie Goodlander’s win in NH’s 2nd District. SKDK congratulates its clients up and down the ballot for hard-fought, historic victories.

“In a tough election year, our candidates triumphed in some of the most competitive and challenging races of the cycle,” said SKDK Political’s senior leaders Doug Thornell, Oren Shur, and Pia Carusone. “We are incredibly proud to have supported these campaigns and remain steadfast in our commitment to helping our clients navigate the road ahead. This is where SKDK thrives—standing by our clients as they tackle new challenges and helping them succeed every step of the way.”

SKDK played a key role in two of the cycle’s most competitive races. In Arizona, the firm helped elect Ruben Gallego as the state’s first Latino U.S. Senator in a state where the top of the ticket lost by nearly six points, focusing on lowering costs, supporting small businesses, and securing America’s borders. In New York’s 19th District, SKDK produced dozens of ads in one of the most expensive House races of the cycle to help fifth-generation Upstate New Yorker Josh Riley flip the seat.

In the House of Representatives, SKDK was proud to be a part of the campaign teams that re-elected Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Chris Pappas (NH-1), Troy Carter (LA-2), Tom Suozzi (NY-3), Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), Debbie Dingell (MI-6), Sara Jacobs (CA-52), Glenn Ivey (MD-4), Shontel Brown (OH-11), and Joe Morelle (NY-25); and elect new members Maggie Goodlander (NH-2) and April McClain Delaney (MD-6).

With the Unity First PAC, SKDK supported Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooke’s victory, helping her become one of two Black women elected to the U.S. Senate, defeating former Governor Larry Hogan.

The firm proudly worked on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Independent Expenditure to support the successful campaigns of Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-5), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-8), and Janelle Bynum (OR-5). With House Majority PAC, SKDK celebrates victories for Jared Golden (ME-2), Gabe Vasquez (NM-2), David Min (CA-47), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-3). The firm also supported victories with the United Democracy Project for Wesley Bell (MO-1) and Sarah Elfreth (MD-3), and alongside DMFI for George Latimer (NY-16).

SKDK served as lead media consultant for the NAACP, driving efforts to engage Black voters nationwide.

Notably, SKDK also supported several local elections this cycle, including Charmaine McGuffey’s re-election as Hamilton County Sheriff and Michael Keane’s election to a full term as Erie County District Attorney. The firm helped pass critical Ohio ballot measures for Toledo Schools and Lorain County, securing funding for school operations and facility improvements and access to critical mental health and recovery services, respectively.
