Nate Hitchings

Nate Hitchings manages communications and media relations strategy for a wide range of political advocacy projects within SKDK’s DC Public Affairs practice.

Nate previously served as a Strategic Communications Advisor in the Office of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan, where he coordinated agencywide press strategy on the rollout of over $100 billion in core Biden-Harris climate, environmental justice, and clean energy implementation programs.

Before joining the Administration, Nate was a Director at SKDK, where he drove forward campaigns dedicated to protecting clean air and clean water regulation, increasing access to affordable reproductive healthcare, ending childhood poverty, and uniting progressive coalitions around landmark cases before the Supreme Court. Nate also served as a Communications Director under former House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) at Waxman Strategies and has extensive crisis management experience from time spent working within FTI Consulting’s Public Affairs, Government Relations, Global Risk, and Investigations practices.

Originally from Massachusetts, Nate holds a master’s degree in politics and communication from the London School of Economics and graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor’s degree in government.
