Mara Kaplan is a member of SKDK’s operations and marketing teams and serves as co-intern coordinator for the D.C. public affairs interns.
At SKDK, Mara helps plan company events (retreats, holiday parties, etc.), maintains communal spaces and technology in the D.C. office, and acts as a liaison between guests, new hires, and DC office operations. As co-intern coordinator, Mara runs the recruitment and hiring process, conducts trainings, staffs interns on teams, and manages the interns through check-ins and professional development sessions. Additionally, Mara works on the SKDK Marketing team, leading social media content for the firm and assisting on various projects.
Previously, Mara worked under Rep. Karen Bass (CA-37), where she provided administrative and scheduling support, among other services. Before her work on Capitol Hill, Mara spent time in Ann Arbor, Michigan, running the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign efforts for the University of Michigan.
Born and raised in Maryland, Mara is back in the D.C. area after graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in both Political Science and History.
