Beth Kanter

Beth is one of those rare communications leaders who can take the most complex challenges – like explaining artificial intelligence to policymakers – and turn them into “aha!” moments. She recently joined SKDK as an Executive Vice President, where she will leverage her decades of experience working for philanthropic and nonprofit organizations, campaigns, and corporations.

Prior to joining SKDK, Beth was the Chief Advocacy & Strategic Communications Officer at the Omidyar Network, where she had been at the forefront of shaping how we talk about and govern emerging technologies and a reimagined capitalism.

Beth has spent much of her career at strategic communication and public affairs firms, including Spitfire Strategies, where she built a reputation for turning thorny social issues into winning campaigns. As Chief Strategy Officer, Beth served as a trusted advisor to foundations and nonprofits looking to amplify their impact, including the Ford Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson, Community Change, Demos, and the Aspen Institute.

Beth honed her strategic chops across Chicago’s political landscape, where she helped labor unions find their voice and healthcare organizations navigate thorny public debates.

With more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, policy engagement, and coalition building, Beth is particularly skilled at bringing diverse stakeholders together and transforming complex policy challenges into clear, actionable campaigns that get results.

Beth graduated cum laude with a B.A. in political science and English from Duke University.
