Alexis Sargent

Alexis Sargent brings expertise in narrative communications, media relations, and public affairs strategy to her projects at SKDK. On the executive communications team, she helps elected officials, executives, and nonprofit leaders develop and refine their messages through opinion pieces, speeches, media interviews, and public relations.  

Before joining SKDK, Alexis worked at the nexus of public affairs, media relations, and journalism. On The Washington Post’s public relations team, she helped build organizational narratives to amplify new journalism projects, business initiatives, and journalists. She coached journalists to effectively communicate their stories at speaking engagements and on major broadcast networks, working with producers from international, national, and local media. Alexis also drafted remarks and presentations for executives and coordinated The Washington Post’s community partnerships with nonprofit clients. Alexis also holds experience with The Boston Globe’s Opinion section, where she wrote opinion pieces and helped launch and produce a podcast. 

Alexis holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Born and raised in Michigan, she also holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College. Alexis is passionate about reducing gender-based violence and volunteers on the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline.
