Alex Bloom

Alex Bloom, co-lead of SKDK’s New England practice, leverages his background in politics and newspaper journalism to guide some of the nation’s largest companies and foundations in securing high-profile coverage, navigating major crises, and building strategic media campaigns.

Over eight years with SKDK, he has directed high-impact campaigns and outreach for clients including Columbia Business School, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Open Society Foundations. He has extensive experience helping corporate, nonprofit, and advocacy clients to develop narratives, secure interviews, and place stories — outlets include the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, and NPR. He also works on campaigns, and previously advised Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s campaign in 2020 as well as the campaigns of Attorney General candidate Warren Tolman and Congresswoman Katherine Clark. Before joining SKDK, Bloom spent three years with O’Neill and Associates, where he worked with 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the Boston Carmen’s Union Local 589, Stonehill College, and HarborOne Bank, among others.

Alex started his career as a newspaper reporter, with stops at the Arizona Republic, The Eagle-Tribune, and The Enterprise of Brockton. A Tufts University alumnus, Alex resides outside of Boston with his fiancé and daughter.
