Vedant is a skilled communications strategist with expertise in media relations, strategic messaging, and crisis management. His career spans senior roles in the Executive Branch, Congress, and political campaigns, where he has shaped public narratives, managed high-stakes press engagement, navigated complex media environments, and advised top principals during consequential global and domestic events.
Prior to joining the firm, Vedant served as Principal Deputy Spokesperson at the U.S. Department of State. He helped lead global communications and media relations strategy on some of the most pressing foreign policy challenges—including the war in Ukraine, U.S.-China relations, and unrest across the Middle East and Africa. He advised Secretary of State Antony Blinken and senior leadership on message development and press strategy during high-profile international crises, helping the Department navigate complex events and communicate with clarity on the world stage. As one of the Department’s primary on-the-record spokespeople, he regularly conducted the televised Daily Press Briefing and played a central role in shaping public understanding of U.S. foreign policy. He also coordinated cross-agency communications across the federal government, led rapid response task forces, and oversaw message alignment across more than 50 bureaus and 250 embassies and consulates worldwide.
Vedant previously served as Assistant Press Secretary and Spokesperson at The White House, supporting strategic communications and media relations on a range of domestic and global priorities. He also led regional communications strategy for the Biden-Harris presidential campaign, overseeing media relations and communications operations in key battleground states during both the primary and general elections.
He has successfully managed public and media relations during some of the most complex and high-pressure situations—including congressional ethics investigations, high-profile litigation, and major international crises. Vedant has helped shape the federal government’s public response to natural disasters, terrorist attacks, geopolitical conflicts, and emergencies involving the evacuation of American citizens or the wrongful detention of individuals.
Earlier in his career, Vedant held senior communications roles for Members of Congress and served as a Regional Press Secretary at the Democratic National Committee. He holds an MBA from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside.
