Today, SKDKnickerbocker announced that award-winning congressional reporter Kate Nocera will be joining the Washington public affairs team and that political and communications veterans Jaclyn Rothenberg and Maureen Shanahan have joined the New York City team.
“We are thrilled that Kate, Jaclyn and Maureen are joining our world-class team,” said Hilary Rosen, managing director of SKDKnickerbocker. “Kate’s unique experience as a reporter covering health care, Congress and politics combined with Maureen’s deep political and corporate experience and Jaclyn’s digital and public affairs expertise will be great assets to our corporate and advocacy clients.”
Nocera will help lead communications efforts on behalf of SKDK’s advocacy, nonprofit and corporate clients. She joins the firm from Buzzfeed, where she covered Congress. Previously, she was a reporter at Politico first covering health care and then Congress. She was awarded the National Press Foundation’s 2014 Dirksen Award for Distinguished Coverage of Congress.
Rothenberg returns to SKDK after a two year stint at Teneo where she was one of the leads for their digital and public affairs teams. In her new role at SKDK, she will handle public affairs and technology clients and serve as a team leader for the New York digital team.
Shanahan joins after serving as director of worldwide publicity and corporate communications for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). Prior to SPE, she worked on Capitol Hill, serving as communications director for Congressman Adam Schiff and press secretary for Congresswoman Betty Sutton, among other positions. Maureen will be working on a wide range of public affairs and corporate clients.
