SKDKnickerbocker Launches Litigation, Regulation & Investigation Practice

New Practice Focuses on Communications Support for Litigation, Regulatory Battles, Consumer Protection Cases and Mergers

SKDKnickerbocker (SKDK), the 2018 Holmes Report North American Public Affairs Agency of the Year, announced the formation of its new Litigation, Regulation and Investigation practice.

SKDK has deep expertise in communicating around litigation, mergers, regulatory crises, consumer protection cases, reputational crises and government investigations. Our experience was forged in the private sector and in senior White House roles, at the Federal Trade Commission, and in the Departments of Justice, Treasury, Transportation, other federal agencies and state houses across the country.

The practice delivers communications strategies that shape the narrative and present legal and policy positions in a digestible manner to key audiences. SKDK helps law firms and companies tell their stories, develop and execute communications plans, craft concise narratives, and provide public relations support through all phases of mergers and acquisitions.

“We partner directly with clients and their legal and internal PR teams to harness the press and public opinion—and turn them into assets during big reputational and legal fights,” said Hilary Rosen, partner in SKDK’s D.C. public affairs practice.

Cecelia Prewett, managing director in SKDK’s D.C. public affairs practice, has spearheaded the formation of this practice area, and led clients including L’Oréal USA, LifeLock, as well as Herbalife, for which SKDK won The Holmes Report 2017 Gold SABRE Award (North America) for excellence in Crisis Management.

“When you’re looking for a public relations partner skilled in working on complex legal issues and communicating through crises, SKDK is the right choice,” Prewett said. “Our unique perspective comes from having been on the inside of the regulatory agencies and federal departments, combined with our experience on the outside, crafting the narrative and strategy needed to educate and persuade the public.”

SKDK has worked on public affairs campaigns for numerous significant mergers and acquisitions involving some of the nation’s most high-profile corporations such as American Airlines-U.S. Airways, AT&T-Time Warner and Live Nation-Ticketmaster.
