Amanda Yanchury

Amanda Yanchury is an experienced communicator with a background in mission-driven work to shape the public conversation, influence policy, and improve lives. 

Prior to joining SKDK, Amanda served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) a senior appropriator, dean of the Minnesota congressional delegation, and leading voice on promoting human rights and fighting the climate crisis. During a turbulent time in Congress, Amanda developed communications strategies for crisis response as well as conveying the impact of complex legislation and policy on people and communities. 

With extensive experience in strategic messaging, writing and editing, content creation, and media relations, she brings a depth of knowledge about the federal legislative process to her work. She has also led communications for a state Democratic party and in nonprofit settings, including as part of the climate NGO coalition that successfully advocated for the first marine national monument in the U.S.

Amanda received a Master of Arts in strategic communication management from Concordia University, St. Paul, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Simpson College. Originally from South St. Paul, Minnesota, Amanda resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
