Ralph Mays Jones Jr. is an engineer-turned-communications strategist dedicated to helping others find their voice, hone their message, and tell their stories on every platform possible.
A proud, lifelong Atlanta native, he is an alumnus of Florida A&M University. Before joining SKDK, Ralph developed his expertise in public relations and executive communications during the tumultuous Trump years and pandemic by spearheading effective communication strategies around national public figures, campaigns, non-profits, and meaningful brands including Keisha Lance Bottoms for Atlanta (digital director), Florida gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum (strategic engagement adviser), Andre Dickens’ Atlanta mayoral runoff (strategic communications director), Rev. Raphael Warnock’s historic 2020 Senate campaign (strategic communications director) and the City of Atlanta and Fulton County Recreation Authority’s rebrand of State Farm Arena.
As a political appointee during the Bottoms administration at the Atlanta City Hall, Ralph served in the Mayor’s Office of Communications and later as digital communications officer for the Department of Watershed Management, where he was responsible for driving all digital marketing efforts and increasing brand awareness of DWM, a leading utility servicing over 1.2 million customers across Atlanta and the surrounding metro area.
Most recently, Ralph served as director of communications for U.S. House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott, where he led all traditional press, new media, and strategic engagement efforts for the chairman in support of his priorities both atop the committee and on Capitol Hill.
In his personal capacity, Ralph serves as the senior communications advisor for Q Christian Fellowship, the largest LGBTQ+ faith advocacy organization in the world. Fueled by faith, organic fruit snacks, a penchant for technological innovation, and inspired by Beyoncé’s relentless attention to detail, Ralph is energized by moving the needle of progress towards a more just and equitable society and making a worthwhile impact on the communities he serves.
When he is not in Washington, he resides with his labradoodle, Forrest, in East Atlanta.
