James is a seasoned political communications professional specializing in crisis communications, political campaigns, issue advocacy, and financial communications for SKDK’s clients.

Prior to joining SKDK, James served as the New York State Democratic Party’s Press Secretary and chief spokesperson, where he specialized in developing strategic communications plans, coordinated Party resources for candidates, and helped successfully elect Governor Kathy Hochul to a full term. In 2019, James was the Press Secretary for U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), where he worked on multiple issues, including COVID pandemic response, SBA relief, and Financial Services.

In his spare time, James serves as the Co-President of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Council, a volunteer group that raises funds to help more than 5000 underserved youth across New York City.

Originally from New Jersey, James graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Communications and Policy Studies. He enjoys writing science fiction, and running Spartan Races.
